A Workout on the Water [Irving, TX]

You may know the area for its arts and entertainment outlets, but just a mile south of Texican Court in Irving, Texas, you’ll also find the scenic Lake Carolyn where you can walk, jog, sunbathe, and try out Stand Up Paddle North Texas. Your lake day will double as a fitness fix when paddleboarding – it’s a great low-impact workout that hits your core and other muscles in ways you may not feel during, but surely will the next day. Rent a board and paddle along the azure 125-acre lake or sign up for one of the fitness classes the combine yoga and SUP, for the ultimate blend of balance and core workout. During the spring months, classes and rentals are offered from Tuesday through Sunday. After a few hours on the water, bask in your post-workout glow with some sunbathing on the grassy hills surrounding the lake.
